Devon Maternity Photography | Bovisand Beach
Anyone who knows me well will know how much I love the sea! It’s such a powerful force and ever-changing, providing the perfect backdrop to this maternity session.
I met Chloe on a rather cool evening in early spring (when our beautiful seas are at their coldest!!) at Bovisand Beach in south Devon. The tide was low, offering a good stretch of the sandy shoreline for photos. The day had been scattered with showers (with one big hail shower just before we met!) but Chloe was undeterred and the clouds parted to give us a little glimpse of the sun, at golden hour, just before it set.
Chloe is incredibly creative (and also an amazing makeup artist!) She chose her own clothing for the shoot which worked so well! Maternity sessions don’t have to show lots of skin but I love the pairing of a bandeau top with a long flowing skirt/kimono to really show off your bump. Bringing an outfit change along to the session is always a great idea and brings variety to the photos we capture. Many mothers I’ve spoken to have regretted not having had photos during their pregnancy (myself included!) so whether you book me or another photographer, or ask a friend to take some photos, don’t miss capturing this special time!
