Stunning Spring Wedding at Kingston Estate

Despite being a year later than originally planned (cheers Covid!), Emily and Will’s stunning Kingston Estate Wedding in South Devon was well worth the wait!

Emily & Will finally tied the knot and celebrated at the stunning Kingston Estate, near Totnes in Devon.

With a background in design, Emily’s vision, coupled with her mum’s (Brambles and Roses) floristry skills and a stunning setting like Kingston Estate, I knew I was going to be in for a treat!
Not only was Emily’s styling absolutely stunning but the sun came out for us too – I really couldn’t have wished to have spent the day with lovelier people!

I arrived to a hive of activity at Kingston Estate Country House whilst Emily and her bridesmaids got ready with the expertise of Hollys Hair Hub, Lashed by Nat and Makeup by Zoe L. Meanwhile, Margo headed to Ipplepen to catch up on the groom’s preparations (namely, a pint at the local!)

Emily and Will wed at a floral-filled St Andrew’s Church in Ipplepen with an impromptu chorus of ‘All You Need is Love’ led by the vicar. After confetti outside the church, they returned to Kingston Estate for reception drinks and canapés in the walled garden. This was followed by speeches in a beautifully styled reception space featuring a luxe colour scheme of pink and gold and stunning floral arrangements.

Entertainment continued later in the Big Yurt led by Funky Dumpty and Future Media.

Should I choose a photographer who has shot at my venue before?

This was my first time photographing at Kingston Estate and it did not fail to impress! It’s always lovely to shoot somewhere different and it’s great to be able to come to a venue with a fresh perspective. The novelty of photographing at a new venue always trumps the familiarity of shooting at a venue I’ve worked at many times. It helps me to see the day with fresh eyes, finding locations, light and compositions that fit my style and, I’d hope, seeing the day differently from other photographers who have photographed that venue before me.
